This book really does provide an in depth look on child behavior and how adults guide that behavior effectively. Helps to consider the child, adults, types of approaches, what's not effective, actions that do not work & the definition of discipline and how to guide that. In being consistent and balanced. The book provides both real & imagined instances of each section/chapter described & gives cases to examine as to what those in child care would consider doing and what the section of the book covered that helps in those instances for people understand if they're on the right track in applying those techniques or not at all, and should change completely. Helps to know no child is a failure, or cannot be taught or guided. They all can learn and so can adults. Using for school, but all who are in this field of work would do well to have this very book, so I am grateful I do & will use this beyond class work.
This was my textbook this past semester. It has a lot of information that is so relevent to early childhood. A very good read for parents as well as teachers. The text and language is simple and easy to read/understand. I like that they give many strategies for behavior modification and most of all this book teachers adults how to speak and relate to children when using guidance strategies.BY:ebook777.com
