The thing that really put me off about Pathfinder was the expectation that I had to spend hundreds of dollars all over again for what was essentially the same system as D&D 3.5. Sure they fixed a couple of things and streamlined the rules, but it was also missing a fair bit of information that I would have had to do without for a long time. Then I would have to spend full price again, making me an even more broke little college student.
With these pocket books, however, there is no more excuse: sure they're small, but they're cheap and even more portable! What is more, if you're just getting into Pathfinder and, like every other sensible being, recognize how stupid 2nd edition is, you can jump right into the massiveness of Pathfinder 1st edition!
